The relaxing exploration game from David Wehle is preparing to land on PC (Steam): here are the new, evocative gameplay screenshots
David Wehle is preparing for the great return to the gaming scene with The First Tree, a new intimate title focused on the exploration with which the independent developer takes advantage of the experience gained over the last years with the project of Home is Where One Starts.
The new screenshots published by Wehle few days before the release of his title on Steam open a window on the fairytale dimension of this adventure, among uncontaminated forests and fantasy scenarios.
The indie developer describe The First Tree as a relaxing third-person exploration game inspired by Journey, Firewatch, and Shelter. The game will be centered around two parallel stories: a fox trying to find her missing family and a son reconnecting with his father in Alaska. Players take control of the fox on a poignant and beautiful journey that crescendos at the source of life, and perhaps result in an understanding of death. Along the way, players can uncover artifacts and stories from the son’s life as he becomes intertwined in the fox’s journey towards The First Tree.
Latest Wehle project is an intimate storywith a gorgeous soundtrack by acclaimed artists like Message to Bears, Lowercase Noises, and Josh Kramer. The gameplay mechanics will be focused on story with light puzzle solving, some platforming elements and complete freedom to explore the environments.
The First Tree will be available this September, 11 for PC and Mac OS, but with the real chance of its future landing on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and mobile systems based on the success that the title will get on Steam.
